PRoject details

As an Industrial Designer at Art and Cook my job was to perform in depth user and product research to identify pain points in the kitchen. I then created concepts using the insights based on research and observation. Finally creating factory ready 3D files and drawings and visuals for sales presentations.

Challenges

Harmful chemical are released into food when plastic containers are microwaved.Studies have found that certain chemicals in plastic can leach out of the plastic and into the food and beverages we eat causing health problems. As an industry trend observation more people are replacing plastic containers with glass containers.

One of the biggest pain points with glass containers is that they break easily.Silicone being a heat resistant material would be the perfect solution to solve for breakage of glass containers.  The silicon sleeve would also help in easy handling of containers when moved from a microwave.
